The Study on the sputum negative conversion of tuberculosis cases cared by Health Center

Abstract
|
|
|
The efficacy of Health Center treatment of tuberculosis in this country must be assessed to improve national tuberculosis control program.
Material of this observation is patients registered and, treated within a year, 1965, at Kwangju city Health Center.
Method of assessment is made in terms of negative conversion of sputun after one year treatment.
Summary are as follows;
1. In a year, 1965, there were 264 patients registered at Kwangju city Health Center, and 212 patients out of 264 were bacteriologically positive.
2. Among 212 cases, Male is 76.5%, advanced cases is 92.5 %, frest cases who had answered of no previous chemotherapy is 49.1% and drug regimen used INHonly is 33.5%, and another 66.5% is combined regimen wick INH.
3. Among 212 cases, default rate within a year was 30.2%.
4. Sputum converted rate within a year was 33.5% in whole 212 cas and 43.3% in 104 fresh cases.
5. It is suggested that the more follow-up worker and the more combined drug regimen is required at Health Center care program in order to improve the effectiveness of treatment.
